Dear Doc: My son is now 5 years and two months. He was born with a number of health challenges and problems. One of them was a kidney problem and others include clubfoot and delayed milestone’s. He has undergone various surgical processes concerning clubfoot and is still not that well. He still can’t walk and is not yet able to talk but hears well and he knows a few issues here and there but why is he not talking and walking? SW, Kenya E Africa
Dear SW, There could be a number of things going on behind his speech delays to include genetic anomalies related or unrelated to the clubfoot and other health problems. However, aside from those possible issues, there are very common and easily identifiable biochemical, nutritional, and hormonal deficiencies and imbalances that are very important to proper physical and neurological development. Accurate testing usually finds these issues and, when corrected, many other health issues improve and correct as well. While we might not be able to find the sources of all of his health issues, we certainly always find many. This is especially true in an increasing amount of the world population as we begin to suffer epidemics of these biochemical imbalanced conditions that are increasingly present at birth and very young ages.
I hope this helps answer your question.
Wishing you good health and a great day, Dr. Pearson
